I reverse mine in and stop when I can get the door open enough to facilitate extraction.

I also leave the handbrake off and in neutral so I can move it to get to the toolboxes etc.

Its not like plonking your car on a drive...

Depends what else is round or you need space left around the car if like me the garage isn't simply a place for my cars....

Though to be fair I dont use anything but knowing you have that last mm of space behind the car isnt that easy without a mark to line up against.
