So had it up at Craigs and changed the MAF as it was gubbed and the pre cat o2 sensor was giving no reading. He said they have had issues with bosch o2 sensors before or it may just be an intermittent fault and tge cel might come on again..... anyway, the Cel came back on after I stopped for fuel in Coldstream :(

Ive ordered a £15 obd reader off amazon and will order anothrr o2 sensor but who do we like using locally for work as I can't get up to Edinburgh for a few weeks due to work....

Any suggestions appreciated. I've tried using imperial racing in Jesmond and they seemed okay.

TIA :)

BTG on the Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate is run by ex lotus mechanics. Jordan on here has some involvement too and a couple of people i know have used them.

Ditto {lolz} just tried ringing but through to voicemail.

out of interest, how hard is it to change a lambda, id have thought they just unscrew and the wire unclips?
do they generally get siezed in due to heat, shite in the exhaust etc.?

worth me giving it ago rather than driving a hour each way for BTG to do it.

(nobody local to me can get the sensor, even the bosch service centre (iirc the original part is bosch?))

cant you buy it online? Eliseparts etc surely stock them.

A lambda is pretty easy to change - if you have a spanner big enough to get it out and its not welded (with heat) into the exhaust. Mine came out pretty easily when I needed to change the downpipe.

Unless there is something else wrong its not a specialist type job...

Unless you fit a MIL light eliminator... depends on your emissions... some pass some dont.

will try loosen it off at the weekend, if it comes out easy enough ill then look at buying a sensor form EP or whereever has them in stock.

if its not coming out easy ill leave it to the garage to sort.
